Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2025

By using Couch, you agree to these terms. They're written to be readable, not to trick you.

1. Acceptance

By using Couch, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. What Couch Is

Couch is a free, browser-based video calling app for hanging out with friends and watching things together. You can video call, share your screen, chat, and capture moments. It works on desktop and tablet — not mobile.

3. Your Account

You need a Google account to use Couch. You're responsible for keeping your account secure. Only one active session is allowed per account at a time.

4. How You Can't Use Couch

You're responsible for everything you share during a call — your screen, camera, audio, and messages.

5. Your Content

You own everything you share. We don't access, record, or store your video, audio, or screen. Calls are peer-to-peer — your media never goes through our servers. Chat messages are only relayed in real time and never saved.

6. Third-Party Services

Couch uses Google for sign-in and storing your account profile. We're not responsible for Google's availability or any content you access through your browser while using Couch.

7. No Warranties

Couch is provided as-is. We don't guarantee the service will always be available, that calls will always connect, or that call quality will meet any particular standard.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any damages resulting from your use of Couch. The service is free, and our liability is limited accordingly.

9. Termination

We can suspend or remove access to Couch at any time if these terms are violated. You can stop using the service whenever you want.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top of this page will change. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
