Couch
For game nights

Games for couples, on the same screen.

Most video-call games mean one of you reads questions off a website while the other waits. On Couch the games live inside the room: one board, both of you on camera, turns that just happen.

The short answer

What games can couples play on a video call?

The games that work best on a video call are short, turn-based and built around reactions: Truth or Dare, Never Have I Ever, Emoji Charades, Ludo, Tic-Tac-Toe, Snakes & Ladders and Chess, plus Co-op Sudoku and Jigsaw when you'd rather team up. Couch has all ten built into its Game Room, so you both play on the same board while seeing each other, with nothing to set up.

The ten games, and when to play each

Match the game to the mood. Short ones warm you up; the talking ones are where the night goes.

  1. 01Spicy

    Truth or Dare

Spin for a turn, pick truth or dare, from sweet to spicy. Best later in the night, when you're both relaxed.

  2. 02Get to know

    Never Have I Ever

You both own up at the same time, so nobody can wait and copy. Then swap the stories behind it.

  3. 03Quick

    Emoji Charades

Decode emoji clues before the other person does. Fast, loud, and easy to play on a phone.

  4. 04Classic

    Ludo

Race all four tokens home first. A long game, perfect for talking while you play.

  5. 05Tiebreaker

    Tic-Tac-Toe

Quick rounds of X and O. Settle who picks the movie, best of five.

  6. 06Classic

    Snakes & Ladders

Pure luck, so nobody feels outplayed. Roll, climb, slide back down and laugh about it.

  7. 07Strategy

    Chess

The long, thoughtful one. Every rule is refereed for you, and colours swap each rematch.

  8. 08Team up

    Co-op Sudoku

One puzzle, two brains. You see each other's moves live, and nobody loses.

  9. 09Cozy

    Jigsaw

Build a picture together, piece by piece. The calmest game in the room.

  10. 10Stakes

    House rules

Make losing count: loser writes the next date plan, or sends a voice note singing.
